Over the years, a small kebab stand in the heart of Berlin has developed into probably the smallest restaurant with a star in Germany. 


Since 2012, we have been offering a relaxed, modern fine dining concept - from 2016 awarded with one star by the Michelin Guide and 16 points by Gault & Millau.


We, the Bandol, are an ambitious and young team that would like to serve up to 18 guests every day with our French-oriented kitchen. 

Our claim: the Bandol should be a place of relaxation, well-being and happiness - a place of life, for every occasion, for everyone.

We serve a 7-course menu with a matching selection of drinks. You will find the current menu here.

We attach great importance to the selection of our products. We work very closely with our vegetable and fruit growers, hunters and fishermen in Brandenburg countryside. Over the years, this has resulted in a trustworthy cooperation of which we are very proud.


Our restaurant bears the name of a small harbour town in the south of France and is named after the famous wine region Bandol at the Cote Azur in the south of Provence.   


The artist Fred Rubin has furnished the Bandol with the interior of the former Central Committee of the GDR, which gives our premises a special flair. Provence meets Berlin Mitte!

The hosts

Chef Andreas Saul and Sommelier  Alexander Seiser

Chef and owner Andreas Saul is the creative soul of Bandol. He was born and raised in Berlin and is a 

  • since May 2018 owner of the Bandol sur mer

  • since end of 2010 chef at Bandol 

  • worked from 2004 to 2010 in the wine bar Rutz at Marco Müller.


Andreas Saul is accompanied and supported by sommelier Alexander Seiser. He was born in Rathenow and grew up in Celle:

Andreas Saul uses fresh and seasonal ingredients in his kitchen concept. Three gardens are managed by Bandol sur Mer especially for this purpose. Game and fish come from the personal hunter and fisherman.
The dishes are divided into two menus with unmistakable finesse.


Bandol sur Mer offers authentic casual fine dining. The interior of the restaurant's character does not create any feeling of stiffness. In this environment you can't help but be relaxed.


Berlin by the sea: In "Bandol sur Mer", Andreas Saul's best three-man kitchen brings modern, French-interpreted product cuisine to the table in a casual atmosphere - directly on the busy Torstraße. For us, this has been a real enrichment for the capital for years...
